"Every spring, parts of Southern California explode with swaths of Golden Poppies, which dance in the desert wind. The hot arid air causes the fragile blooms to sway and swing close to the sandy ground. Intense sun invites the blossoms to open every morning then causes the delicate petals to glow a luminous orange below the vast blue sky."
"Windswept Poppies" by photographer Lisa Avery was captured with a pinhole camera and developed with color 120 film. Each borderless C-print is printed on semi-gloss photo paper and signed and numbered by the artist on the back with archival ink.
