The Melting Mountain Pottery goblet is the perfect way to toast your special event in life; a set of goblets would make a charming housewarming or wedding gift.
This goblet is wheel-thrown with a high fire white stoneware clay. The application of slip, or liquid clay, to create interior and exterior textures in a loose and fluid manner gives life to the form and a different character or personality to every piece. All of Melting Mountain Pottery's goblets are bisque fired and then put through a rigorous glazing process where a combination of pouring and spraying several layers of glaze creates the colors and patterns seen in the finished pots. Finally, the goblet is reduction fired with gas or wood to cone 10, or about 2300° Fahrenheit, hardening the piece enough for everyday use.

Note from the Artist Regarding Glaze Colors: "The images viewed online are original examples of my work. The form or shape of pottery ordered will be exact, but color and texture may differ. My process and materials allow a sort of "controlled chaos" to occur on the surface of my pots to make each and every one unique. It is this unpredictability of the ash glazes and slip that I use that produce the beauty of each piece."
